4 string 30" scale fretted piccolo bass

The project was for Norma, who has small hands, and already has a bass. So I wanted this to be different... so, piccolo it is!  It's made from re-purposed walnut steps, This thing is about 5 1/2 pounds, and super vibrant in EQ.  Daughter named this bass Naomi.

BODY: all walnut (from reclaimed steps, from brother Bill). Wenge jack plate, walnut knobs and bridge.  Abalone inlays. 

NECK: from eBay (Eden guitars, I think), abalone inlay of a bunch of bass clefs.  gotoh style tuners.

ELECTRONICS: piezo ribbon transducer beneath the bone saddle, and Guitar Fuel preamp, powered by a 9V. 

SOUND: check out the video below.  Piccolo basses venture into the guitar frequency range.  This one is like a really warm guitar, but with some punch when needed.
